Clearly I had no idea what to call this mood board. I have realized I LOVE designing room for transitioning kids. I can mix everything and somehow make it all feel right to the client. This particular kid wanted a fan, and fans are my enemy. I just can’t find one I love more than let’s just say putting an orb chandelier in here. I listened, and I think this one plays well with the rest of the decor. I have a grown up bed with a metal wrapped dresser and desk in aged bronze. I chose these particular dressers to bring out the gold nail heads on the bed. I used the knobs on the dresser as the inspiration for the fan and other lighting. I wanted to soften the room by adding a sweater wool rug and linen chairs. The nautical elements are incorporated to add a whimsical “hey, I am still young and fun” feel.
I was way more than excited to work on two boys bedrooms! They are both so different in style, and since the beds were a little pricey, I wanted to choose pieces that were classic.
