Happy Monday Everyone!!! This weekend involved way too much house stuff. We heard we were approved, and it has been non-stop since which is awesome! I am more than ready to decorate, and I am happy to bring you along with me. We have an appointment at the design gallery on Wednesday. I really like to go in with as many ideas as possible which is why I am so happy Pinterest was invented to store and share all these projects! Landon and I were able to agree on most things, and I managed to slip a few things in that he didn’t quite approve. Luckily, I want to make him just as happy so boot shaped beer mug in our dining room, it is because I love seeing him smile.
I would like our house to flow but have an element of theme to each room. I think it is a good idea to create a mood board for every room in your house so your ideas don’t become unorganized, and it makes it easier everyone to see your basic theme.
I wanted to start with the upstairs guest bedroom and bring some of my country roots into this house. I want it to feel clean yet rustic and mix different colors instead of burlaps and browns so I created a rustic white bedroom mood board. The mixing of these two themes is perfect for any especially couples who think they can not compromise. For a basic layout of our room, I added this to see the measurements and make sure everything will fit:
I first put all my ideas in a folder on my desk top to organize then used Photoshop. On a Mac, you can also use a free basic collage app (I like Collageit3 free). This time I will use Photoshop and start with a “New” File set in Landscape and title it “Upstairs Guest Bedroom Rustic Mood board” . For length purposes, I actually titled it “Rustic Summer Guest Bedroom” on the board.
I found a lot of pictures from google images. I also tried to add in the paint swatches to mix things up. As a reminder, find swatches with the names on them. I love to mix themes while keeping along the same color family so here I came up with nautical with a little rustic twist. For info on where to find anything, please email or leave a comment below. Thanks 🙂
