I have been working with wonderful clients on a new dining room. Their personal style is dark rocker cool kids with a super kind heart. Did that make any sense? I was planning on making about three different boards to show them different styles: rustic french country and luxury antiques (totally made that description up). They love the rustic look and already had a flatiron table from Restoration Hardware :
Of course I had to incorporate this awesome table into my board. This table could go modern or rustic, but I decided to stick with rustic. One of the ideas I had was a Rustic French Country style dining. I would add textures of warm greys and browns to a cloud white wall (basically make the wall have a worn marble look) to brighten up the dark table legs and have french country elements in the chairs. For the chairs, I picked two for different reasons (why there are two boards) .. If you want the overall setting to have more presence and feel warm, go with a thicker fabric chair. If you want the actual table to stand out more, go with the round french with the wood to compliment the color of the table. I pick a mirror for the fireplace to make the room appear bigger. I also picked a mirror with design to add a bit of curve and lux to the straightforward fireplace. I chose the a gray jute rug to compliment the floors and grey elements and cozy the space even more. You do not want your guests to feel cold during dinner. This room is pretty versatile with any time of the year and no one piece over rides the other.
With a different chair
