Christmas is just around the corner, but we have not had much time to think about that! Our new home is closing on December 30th. Everyone has been frantically finishing up last-minute details, and our punch list is a mile long still. In total, we love our house and have a new home update! We love the grey and knowing we picked every detail makes it so special. First, a question we get asked a lot:
Would we recommend building a home? We would answer with “it depends”. We had to pick out products and learn so much! We were on the phone with our builder almost everyday and had tons of surprise meetings. With a custom home, you can hire a designer to help, but if you want to save a little cash, prepare to spend a lot time. Know what you like but prepare to change your mind. A lot of things I loved were just too expensive in total.
If you choose a spec home, it is a lot easier, but you can not be as picky. You have a lot of things to choose, and you are done. The building process is smoother. We were going to go this route at first, but our neighborhood would not allow it, and I already had a vision that I did not want to compromise.
After a year, here is a quick new home update before we close. If you would like to see the building process, please click here, and for more tips, please click here.

Laundry
To save money, we DIY the lap board. We plan on adding grey glaze to give it more texture and add a pendant light.
Living
We are definitely still working on the living room. I plan on adding Cremone Bolts and knobs to the cabinets. I love the arches. By far, my favorite decision! They still have a few more things to do so please pardon all the shoe prints.
